Presented exclusively at the Nürburgring during the Truck Grand Prix, this special series was born from feedback from nearly 350 drivers.

MAN Truck & Bus unveiled its new TGX Trucker's Edition special series during the International Shell ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix, on 10 July. Based on the TGX 18.560 4x2, it features the new PowerLion powertrain with a 560 hp D30 engine, promising up to 5% lower fuel consumption. Nothing very new in terms of the manufacturer's announcement, except that this time, the truck was co-designed with its Trucker's World community: nearly 350 drivers had their say in the project.

Specifications drawn up by the drivers

No spectacular transformation or marketing gadget here. The idea was simple: find the right balance between comfort, safety, functionality and profitability, directly based on real-world experience. The result: GX cab, full air suspension, and the whole range of the latest driver assistance systems — EfficientCruise with PredictiveDrive, EBA Plus, turning assistant. Enough to drive with greater peace of mind, both in the city and on the motorway.

“The Truck Grand Prix is an unmissable event for us every year, because this is where we meet the people for whom we design our vehicles,” explains Stefan Schall, General Manager Truck, Vans & Used at MAN Truck & Bus Germany. “It is not a model like the others, but a vehicle designed in close collaboration with our community.”

Comfort as a priority, not an option

In terms of equipment, MAN is not cutting corners: heated and ventilated seats, ComfortSteering active steering, electric parking air conditioning, smart storage compartments. And for long breaks, a 24-inch television, an integrated wardrobe and a reclining seat designed for watching TV in the evening. Add automatic fifth-wheel detection, fuel anti-theft protection and OptiView mirrors, and you get a truck that thinks of everything that usually makes a long-haul driver’s life difficult on assignment.

In terms of looks, the Trucker's Edition fully embraces its identity: painted front end, zero chrome, black finishes, black wheels, LED light bar on the roof bar and air horns for the signature sound. It arrives in the exclusive Mojave Beige Metallic colour, but will also be available in other colours for fleets that care about their visual identity.

Sold in several European markets, including France, each unit comes with its gift pack: premium floor mats, matching fitted sheet, wind deflectors and even a leather jacket offered to the driver. A real gesture, for a truck that owes them everything.
