Heading to the Grand-Prix Camions du Castellet!

Following a spectacular season opener at Circuit Dijon-Prenois, where 22,150 spectators witnessed the highly anticipated return of truck racing to the Burgundy circuit, the paddock now heads south for what is already shaping up to be an explosive weekend.

And once again, all eyes will be on Téo Calvet (#20 - Freightliner). Untouchable during the opening round, the reigning French champion launched his 2026 campaign in perfect fashion. With two pole positions, two victories in the main races, and complete control throughout the weekend, the Freightliner driver arrives at Le Castellet as the clear favorite. But behind him, the competition is ready to raise the pressure.

Thomas Robineau (#75 - MAN) displayed impressive consistency at Dijon. Always close to Calvet without truly managing to challenge him, the MAN driver knows he must take another step forward to prevent the Toulouse native from extending his championship lead. On a fast and technical circuit like Paul Ricard, however, opportunities could be more numerous.

The battle for the podium also promises to be particularly intense. Lionel Montagne (#40 – Renault Trucks) made a strong impression in Burgundy thanks to his consistency and double podium finish. His son, Yorick Montagne (#24 - Renault Trucks), stood out with spectacular comeback drives and two reverse-grid victories. The Aravi Racing family duo arrives at Le Castellet with strong ambitions.

Several other drivers will also be eager to confirm their potential. Anthony Robineau (#8 - MAN) demonstrated that last season’s problems are now behind him. Very consistent at Dijon, he could quickly become a regular contender for the top five. The same applies to Lucas Rivals (#15 - Renault Trucks), author of a superb second-place finish in the final race, and Raphaël Sousa (#21 - Freightliner), capable of the best and the worst but undeniably one of the most aggressive drivers on the grid.

The Var round will also be highly anticipated for Jonathan André (#44 - MAN). Very competitive before his unfortunate retirement on Sunday at Dijon, the driver will be determined to recover the valuable points lost during the opening round. As for José Sousa (#22 - Freightliner), he will look to bounce back after a frustrating start to the season marked by several incidents and penalties.

After a strong opening weekend, Aurélien Hergott (#10 - DAF), Antoine Languillat (#31 - IVECO), and Romain Rivals (#17 - Renault Trucks) will now have the opportunity to confirm their promising momentum on the Paul Ricard layout, a circuit radically different from Dijon-Prenois.

Ivan Rodrigues (#94) showed flashes of still untapped potential during the opening weekend. Returning to competition after a sabbatical year, the driver still lacks consistency and rhythm compared to his rivals. Yet his performance at the beginning of Race 4 in Dijon reminded everyone that the 2024 French Junior Champion has lost none of his raw speed.

The second round of the year will also mark the debut of Anthony Daguier (#23) and Romain Boiteux (#73) in the category. Forced to withdraw before the start of racing at Dijon due to a timing system issue on their Renault Trucks entered by Team FFC, both drivers were unable to defend their chances during the opening round. This time, they hope to finally take full part in the action and properly launch their season at Le Castellet.

The Circuit Paul Ricard will also welcome back several familiar faces from the championship. Pierre Ihuel (#64 – Volvo Trucks) was forced to withdraw at the last minute in Dijon due to a technical issue on his truck. The same situation affected brothers Florian Defaye (#16 – Renault Trucks) and Nathan Defaye (#18 – Renault Trucks), who also missed the Burgundy round for mechanical reasons. All three hope to finally take the start and quickly regain their rhythm.

Céline Miral (#77 – Renault Trucks) and Pierre Parsus (#69 – Renault Trucks) are also returning. The two teachers, involved in their respective educational projects with their schools, will make their first appearance of the season at Le Castellet.

In a season now consisting of six Grands Prix, every weekend will matter. And on a circuit as demanding and spectacular as Paul Ricard, even the smallest mistake could prove costly. Between long straights and heavy braking zones, all the ingredients are in place for another weekend packed with overtaking and hard-fought battles.
