Continental AG expands its transport range with the new Conti Hybrid HT 5 trailer tyre

This new trailer axle tyre has a clear objective: more mileage, greater efficiency and enhanced safety — while reducing fleets’ total cost of ownership (TCO).

Presented on February 16, 2026, in Compiègne, the Conti Hybrid HT 5 now enables fleet managers to benefit from a consistent tyre range across all axles — steer, drive and trailer — tailored to regional and extended regional operations, from secondary roads to motorways, with occasional site access capability.

Compared to its predecessor, the Conti Hybrid HT3+, the new Conti Hybrid HT 5 delivers a 15% increase in mileage*. A direct lever to reduce trailer tyre replacement costs.

For example, for a regional fleet of 80 trailers covering 110,000 km per year, this gain represents annual savings of approximately 32 trailer tyres.

Low rolling resistance also contributes to reduced fuel consumption — and therefore lower TCO. A key factor, considering that while tyres account for only about 2% of operating costs, they influence nearly 50% of a fleet’s overall expenses.

Beyond economic benefits, the environmental impact is also positive: fewer tyres produced, reduced raw material usage, and lower CO₂ emissions throughout the product lifecycle.

The Conti Hybrid HT 5 features a completely redesigned tread pattern combined with a new rubber compound to significantly improve wet grip performance. The result: a B rating on the EU label for wet grip, ensuring enhanced safety in demanding conditions.

Zigzag central grooves and 2D sipes provide consistent road holding, even as tread depth decreases. The tread rigidity ensures uniform ground pressure distribution for stable and controlled braking.

The tyre also achieves an A rating on the EU label for noise, helping to reduce rolling noise emissions.

With the introduction of the HT 5, Continental now offers a comprehensive solution for regional transport:

• Conti Hybrid HS 5 (steer axle): precision and driving comfort • Conti Hybrid HD 5 (drive axle): high traction and balanced braking • Conti Hybrid HT 5 (trailer axle): stability, robustness and grip, regardless of load

The Conti Hybrid Generation 5 tyres are designed for high mileage, increased durability and optimized casings for retreading across multiple lifecycles. All models also integrate RFID chips.

The new Conti Hybrid HT 5 will be available from March 2026 in sizes 385/65 R 22.5 and 385/55 R 22.5. Additional key sizes will expand the range by 2027.

The tyres can also be delivered in a connected version, with an integrated sensor compatible with the ContiConnect digital tyre management solution.
