Chinese manufacturer SINOTRUK is continuing to gain momentum in the global commercial vehicle market. Gathered in Hanoi (Vietnam) for its international partners conference, more than 900 distributors and importers from 39 countries discovered the Asian giant’s new roadmap. One clear message emerged from the meeting: the manufacturer’s future will be driven by alternative energies, with a stated ambition to become a major player in zero-emission trucks on a global scale.

Growth that is not slowing down

The figures presented during this convention demonstrate the manufacturer’s exceptional momentum. In the first half of 2026, SINOTRUK reported revenue of nearly 11 billion dollars, up 42% compared with the same period the previous year. Sales are following the same trajectory, with 272,000 vehicles sold in just six months (+27.6%). The heavy-duty segment remains the real driver of this growth, with 196,000 trucks sold, representing an increase of more than 40%. Performance that allows the manufacturer to strengthen its position as the world’s leading heavy-duty truck manufacturer.

Electric becomes a strategic priority

While diesel still accounts for the majority of volumes, it is in the field of new energies that SINOTRUK intends to make the difference. The manufacturer already claims 25,000 electric heavy-duty trucks sold in China since the beginning of the year, a result that allows it to take the lead in this particularly competitive domestic market. On this occasion, SINOTRUK unveiled a new identity dedicated to its electric range: S-EV. This new logo symbolises the manufacturer’s commitment to more sustainable road transport and is built around three pillars: sustainability, intelligence and value creation for operators.

Today, SINOTRUK’s electric solutions are already marketed in more than 50 countries, with applications covering port activities, mining, construction sites and regional logistics.

Much more than trucks

The Chinese manufacturer no longer wants to simply sell vehicles. Its strategy is now based on a genuine electric ecosystem, integrating charging infrastructure, local energy production solutions through microgrids, connected services, digital fleet management and after-sales support throughout the entire vehicle life cycle.

The objective is to reassure transport operators faced with the main questions surrounding the energy transition: range, access to electricity, technology choices, equipment reliability and the availability of after-sales services.

For SINOTRUK, the success of the electric truck depends just as much on the environment surrounding it as on the vehicle itself.

A complete range for every application

The Hanoi conference also served as a technology showcase. No fewer than 26 alternative-energy vehicles were on display, covering all road transport needs: tractor units, tippers, distribution rigids, light commercial vehicles and pick-ups.

The manufacturer is focusing on several technologies in order to meet different operating constraints:

  • 100% battery-electric vehicles (BEV);
  • range-extender models;
  • hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

This diversity illustrates SINOTRUK’s desire not to lock its customers into a single technology, but to offer the solution best suited to each application.

An offensive that now extends beyond China

International development is now one of the manufacturer’s priorities. In Malaysia, for example, its long-standing partner Sendok Group, already a distributor of SINOTRUK trucks, is preparing for the arrival of a new generation of 100% electric heavy-duty trucks in order to support the transition of the local market.

This strategy illustrates the Chinese manufacturer’s determination to accelerate its expansion into export markets by relying on its distributor network and on comprehensive solutions that go far beyond the vehicle itself.

The ambition to become a global player in decarbonised mobility

Through this international conference, SINOTRUK is clearly displaying its ambitions. The manufacturer no longer simply wants to maintain its leadership in the global conventional heavy-duty truck market; it now intends to take a leading position in the energy revolution of road transport.

A strategy combining large-scale industrialisation, electrification, digital services and support for transport operators, with the objective of building a global ecosystem capable of accelerating the decarbonisation of freight transport.
