German giant Daimler Truck begins 2026 with mixed results. In the first quarter, the group delivered 68,849 vehicles, down 9% compared to the same period in 2025.

In detail, the situation is far from uniform. The Mercedes-Benz Trucks division stands out with solid growth of +13%, reaching 34,486 units. In contrast, the North American market is experiencing a clear slowdown: Trucks North America is down 25%, while the bus segment also declined by 20%.

But behind these declining figures, a positive signal is clearly emerging: electrification. Sales of battery electric vehicles continue to grow, with 742 units delivered, representing a 26% increase year-on-year.

On the French market, the trend is more encouraging. France is reclaiming its position as the second-largest truck market, confirming a momentum that began at the end of 2025. A development that could prove beneficial throughout 2026, in a context of gradually recovering demand.

In a still-contrasted market, Daimler Truck is confirming a gradual transition toward more sustainable transport solutions, while remaining dependent on regional economic cycles, particularly in North America.
