The objective is to enable fleet operators to instantly access the information they need in order to optimize their operational performance.

Artificial intelligence continues to establish itself in the transport sector. Michelin Connected Fleet has announced the launch of its AI Assistant, a conversational assistant integrated into the MyConnectedFleet platform, designed to support managers of heavy-duty truck fleets, light commercial vehicles and passenger transport in their daily tasks. By leveraging the data collected by connected vehicles, the tool promises to provide immediate answers to operational questions and significantly reduce the time spent searching for information.

Simplified Use of Data

In practical terms, the fleet manager can now query the platform using natural language. The assistant is able to identify the most fuel-efficient drivers over a given period, indicate the vehicles requiring tyre maintenance, list those currently immobilized, or calculate fuel consumption costs. Responses are generated in just a few seconds, in the form of text or visual reports, using real-time available data.

This new interface therefore prevents users from having to navigate between several dashboards or manually create different reports. Michelin Connected Fleet aims to transform telematics data into directly actionable information in order to accelerate decision-making and improve the operational efficiency of transport operators.

Development Carried Out with Customers

The company explains that it developed this assistant in collaboration with several of its major customers in order to meet the concrete needs of fleet operators.

“The AI Assistant is the natural evolution of our DNA, built around supporting our customers. It offers a more intuitive way of interacting with vehicle data while eliminating the need to generate numerous reports,” says Sophie Foucque, CEO of Michelin Connected Fleet Europe, Africa and Australia.

The group also specifies that the solution operates within a closed environment guaranteeing the confidentiality of fleet data. The assistant’s functionalities are intended to evolve progressively according to user feedback.

An Assistant Designed to Become More Powerful

Beyond answering everyday queries, Michelin Connected Fleet sees this artificial intelligence as a genuine decision-support tool. The assistant will notably work alongside the company’s other solutions, such as intelligent onboard cameras, automatic tyre wear monitoring systems, and tyre underinflation alerts. The objective is to offer a comprehensive approach to fleet management, combining safety, vehicle availability and cost control.

This announcement comes at a time when market expectations are evolving rapidly. According to a MarketPulse study conducted by Michelin Connected Fleet among more than 400 French and British fleet operators, 78% of fleet managers believe that artificial intelligence will transform their business in the coming years. Drawing on its 30 years of experience in data science applied to mobility, the group intends to rely on this expertise to support this digital transition.

Launch in Ten Countries

The MICHELIN AI Assistant is now available to Michelin Connected Fleet customers in the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Germany and Italy. Its rollout will be accompanied by new functionalities designed to meet the emerging needs of fleet managers, with the ambition of making artificial intelligence a true co-pilot for fleet operations.
