Volvo celebrates its 100th anniversary !

A century is worth celebrating! And at Volvo Trucks, the decision was made not to simply put an anniversary logo on the cab. To celebrate its centenary, with festivities planned for 2027, the Swedish manufacturer is launching a genuine “100th Anniversary Special Edition” on its FH, FH Aero, FH16 and FH16 Aero models.

An FH that pays attention to detail

Volvo has paid particular attention to the interior atmosphere of this anniversary series. The seats feature a new two-tone design with premium leather upholstery and an embroidered anniversary pattern. Beige leather elements complete the overall look, particularly on the partition wall and decorative strips.

But it is above all in the details that this edition intends to stand out. The steps are backlit and LED strips integrated into the console make it possible to choose between red or white ambient lighting. When the door is opened, lighting also projects the anniversary pattern onto the ground, leaving no doubt about the exclusive nature of the truck!

Still with the same attention to detail, we even notice that the speaker grilles feature the famous anniversary pattern thanks to 3D-printing manufacturing. The cab curtains, meanwhile, pay tribute to the different Volvo models produced over the past 100 years.

A century of evolution

Behind this special series, Volvo obviously wants to celebrate its history, but also to highlight the considerable developments made by the manufacturer in terms of safety, comfort, productivity and energy efficiency.

“The 100th Anniversary Special Edition celebrates what we have achieved over the past century,” explains Jonathan Disley, Design Director at Volvo Trucks. The manufacturer notably highlights a design inspired by its Swedish heritage and the history of the brand.

And this history continues to be written with a range that is evolving on all fronts. The FH has recently benefited from improvements to its electric, gas and diesel powertrains, with announced gains in performance, range and energy efficiency.

Available from September

Good news for fans of limited editions: this 100th Anniversary Special Edition will be offered with most of the powertrain and chassis configurations currently available on the FH, FH Aero, FH16 and FH16 Aero.

Sales will begin as early as September 2026, just a few months before the major centenary celebrations planned by Volvo for 2027.

And Volvo will also be able to highlight another of its key priorities: safety. Four FH and FH Aero configurations have received five stars in Euro NCAP tests to date, including the FH 4x2 tractor and FH Aero 4x2 tractor, as well as the FH 6x2 and FH Aero 6x2 rigid trucks. One hundred years of history, then, but a Volvo that clearly intends to keep looking towards the future. And for this anniversary series, the Swedish manufacturer seems to have chosen a fairly simple recipe: take an already premium FH and push the attention to detail even further.
