MM Technology unveils its new MMT EVO5, and the Czech rally truck continues its development with Prometeon as its exclusive tyre partner. A collaboration built on several years of development and competition at the highest level.

As you know, here at TruckStop we love truck racing, and the Dakar is an unmissable event. For its part, MM Technology is taking another step forward with the presentation of the MMT EVO5, the latest evolution of its rally truck. Co-founded by Martin Macík Jr., two-time Dakar winner, the Czech company has established itself as one of the leading manufacturers in the truck category.

Chassis reinforcements, a revised cab structure and a new shock absorber configuration: the MMT EVO5 directly benefits from the lessons learned by the factory and customer teams, particularly during the 2026 Dakar.

On the tyre side, all trucks produced at MM Technology’s factory in Sedlčany leave the production line fitted with Prometeon tyres, its exclusive original equipment partner. A collaboration that goes far beyond a simple supply agreement, as the engineers from both companies work together on product development.

From the S02 Pista to the S02 Rally, and then to the latest S02 Rally EVO, Prometeon has developed its rally range over the kilometres covered in competition and thanks to feedback from Martin Macík Jr. Development directly tested against the most extreme rally-raid conditions.

Six trucks in the Dakar Top 10

The 2026 Dakar once again validated this approach. MM Technology entered nine trucks, eight of which finished the event and six of which placed in the Top 10.

The two teams equipped with Prometeon tyres, Martin Macík Jr.’s MM Technology Factory Team and the ItalTrans Racing Team, both finished inside the Top 9.

And development continues. In recent weeks, engineers from Prometeon and MM Technology have continued testing in the Tunisian desert, with the aim of collecting new data and preparing for the next season.

In rally-raid, every kilometre is a test bench. For Prometeon as well as MM Technology, the MMT EVO5 therefore represents another step in a collaboration where performance, reliability and on-the-ground development move forward together.

A story to follow next January at the 2027 Dakar! As we can see, tyre manufacturers are very much there to test their products in extreme conditions, but above all to demonstrate that their reliability is up to the task.

Goodyear, and now Prometeon… All that remains is to hope that Michelin returns to truck racing. Long a leader in the off-road field, it seems clear that the competition has not waited for them!
