IVECO and GARAC: Training Today’s Transport Professionals for Tomorrow

Yet without technicians trained in new technologies, there can be no credible decarbonization and no operational continuity. This is precisely where IVECO has chosen to take action.
A Vehicle Donation for Training

The manufacturer has just donated two CNG vehicles to the GARAC, France’s leading training institution for automotive, motorcycle, and commercial vehicle professions. A meaningful contribution, both in terms of the vehicles selected and the philosophy behind it.
On one side, a modern IVECO Daily running on CNG, well-equipped and close to real-world operating configurations. On the other, an IVECO Eurocargo CNG model, perfectly representative of regional and urban applications. Two practical teaching tools far from static demonstration units.
The Right Tools for the Right Training
But IVECO’s commitment goes beyond simply donating equipment. Access to manufacturer diagnostic tools and technical documentation makes all the difference. Here, apprentices don’t just “observe” the technology, they learn how to operate it, diagnose it, and maintain it, just as they will in tomorrow’s workshops.
This initiative is fully aligned with the logic of the IVECO Campus, a genuine bridge between industry and education. A pragmatic, field-oriented approach that also addresses a well-known industry reality: the shortage of qualified skills.
From the GARAC’s perspective, the stakes are clear. Training students on vehicles that reflect the ongoing transformation of the transport sector is now essential to maintaining a high level of teaching excellence and meeting companies’ expectations.
By supporting training in CNG and more broadly in alternative energy solutions IVECO confirms that its multi-energy strategy is not limited to products. It also focuses on people, knowledge transfer, and anticipating the industry’s future needs.
A discreet yet essential initiative and probably one of the most effective levers for preparing the future of road transport.
